To empower women of District Dir to have self-reliance and self-sufficiency, foundation stone for Women Vocational Training Centre, Chakdara, Lower Dirwas laid by Pakistan Army on 3 Apr 2014 by Major General AkhtarJamilRao, Commander of an Engineers Division. The project is initiated under UAE Pakistan Assistance Program, under which 75 projects have already been completed in Malakand Division by Pakistan Army. The facility will train 200 women students of District Dir in Knitting/Sewing, Embroidery, Health Management, Canvas/Glass Painting, Cooking and computer sciences. It is estimated that 1.5 lac population of District Dir will be benefitted out of it.
