Women played leading role in freedom struggle, says Nasrin

Deputy Convenor, coordination committee MQM-P Nasrin Jalil said that be it the freedom struggle or the MQM movement, women have played a leading role. Muhajir mothers and sisters have bravely faced all kinds of situations. Today, once again the women of Sindh are raising their voice for the damaged infrastructure and basic rights.

We want the women of the city to be active once again for the rights of their city. She expresses these views while addressing to press conference on Friday. She said that arrangements for the women’s convention are underway in Karachi’s historic Nishtar Park. I request women to ensure their participation in this convention. It has been the tradition of MQM that women should be in the forefront alongside men.

The women of MQM Pakistan are going door to door explaining the aims and objectives of the convention and inviting them to participate in the convention.Jalil said that since August 22, 2016, we have not had political freedom. Today, MQM flags are once again visible in the city, so it is a sign of real change.

Our women have been trampled on horse-tops, bound and brutalized in the past. The women of this city have carried funerals on their shoulders. We have to secure the future of our children. She further said that campuses have been set up at different places in the city. MQM is the only party in Pakistan which has a majority of educated men and women.

Only MQM has been representing the middle class in the Houses. Those who are elected from here and go to the Houses do not spend a single penny from their pockets. The MQM leader said that the special thing about MQM is that our parliamentary leader in Sindh Assembly is a woman MPA. We want to convey this message to the mothers and sisters of Karachi through the media that women should participate in the convention.
