A woman’s body was found at her home in the Ranchore Lines area almost two days after her death. Her husband was away on Umrah.
According to Garden police station SHO Zubair Nawaz, the deceased was identified as Rukhsana, 55. Her husband was away performing Umrah, leaving Rukhsana alone at home. On Friday, Rukhsana’s sister, alarmed by the fact that she was not picking her phone, came to visit her. However, she found the door locked from the inside. Despite banging and yelling hysterically, there was a ‘deathly silence’. Soon, the next door neighbours alerted by the commotion came and it was decided to break the door.
The neighbours broke down the door and to every one’s shock Rukhsana’s lifeless body was lying on the floor. SHO Nawaz said they responded to report and reached the scene. He said that preliminary estimates suggest the body was approximately two days old.
He further said that the woman’s death appears to be natural. However, the family declined a post-mortem examination.
