Woman seeks husband’s release

HYDERABAD: A married woman of Matli here on Friday asked higher authorities to hold a judicial inquiry to get her detained husband released from the Nara Jail, Hyderabad.

Addressing a news conference at the Hyderabad Press Club, along with her mother Tehmina Mallah, she said she had married Abdul Sattar Sheikh four months ago but the Tando Muhammad Khan police had arrested her husband from their house without any reason. The police had misbehaved with the women present in the house.

She said three other people were also arrested with him, adding that the three had been released later. Despite lodging complaints with the quarters concerned and senior police officials, no heed has been paid to the case, she added.

She demanded of the higher authorities to hold an impartial judicial inquiry against people involved in the arrest of her husband, She said her husband was tortured and was ill in the Nara Jail and called for his immediate release without delay.
