Woman raped in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: A pregnant woman was raped in the capital, police said.

A case has been registered with Lohi Bher police station on the charge of PPC 376 against an accused in response to a complaint lodged by the victim who was seven months pregnant.

As per information, the woman was unemployed and was seeking a job, and therefore contacted the suspect, who was a property dealer. The police said the suspect offered her a job in his office at Bahria Town and asked her to come for an interview.

When she did not visit his office, he himself picked her up from her house on the pretext of an interview, the police said, adding that later he drove her to a plaza located in Bahria Town. On seeing the suspect lock, the door, the woman became suspicious and started screaming.

However, he overpowered the woman, threatened her with dire consequences and then raped her.

Later she managed to go inside the washroom from where she made a call to an acquaintance who reached the flat along with the police. The police arrested the suspect and shifted him to a police station.
