KHAIRPUR: A newly married woman committed suicide by taking pesticide in the Ahmedpur police limits here on Tuesday, police said.

Police reports said that Zubaida, 19, wife of Allah Rakhyo Panhyar, committed suicide in the Ghullan Panhyar village. The Ahmedpur police shifted her body to Taluka Hospital Kingri for an autopsy. However, no postmortem was performed and the body was buried without any medico-legal formalities.

The News has learnt that the parents of Zubaida had married her off without her consent.
