Suspect on trial for rape escapes from jail

In a real life episode of jail break, an inmate made a brazen daylight escape from a prison by jumping out of a bathroom window after cutting the iron grill with a small saw then scaling the prison wall to disappear in the rush and traffic of Malir.

A suspect under trial for kidnap and rape escaped from Malir Jail on Sunday due to which a case was registered against eight policemen posted in Malir Jail for negligence and carelessness; seven of whom were arrested on Monday.

Muhammad Javed was arrested two years ago by Site Superhighway police on the charges of abduction and rape.

Javed had cut the iron bars of the window of the bathroom of a barrack in Malir Jail on Sunday afternoon and escaped by jumping over the jail wall. Case was registered against eight police officials under the section of negligence and carelessness in Shah Latif Town police station.
