Sir: The increasing instances of rape perpetrated against minors are extremely alarming. One shudders to read the paper in the morning only to discover that not only is rape occurring, it is being done to minors all the more. Just a few days ago I read that a three-month-old baby was raped and a day after that the papers told of the rape of a five-year-old girl. What is this world coming to? What is this so-called ‘Islamic’ republic coming to where even the innocence of childhood is not sacred? We pride ourselves on preserving the sanctity of Islam by dishing out the death penalty against charges of blasphemy and we ban anything that seems even remotely free or entertaining but we cannot take care of our children from such predators?
