KARACHI: Karachi will host the 28th edition of the National Women’s Hockey Championship in January next year. This decision was taken at a meeting of Pakistan Hockey Federations women’ wing held here on Tuesday with Khush Bakht Shujat, chairperson women’s wing in chair. “All the affiliated units of the women’s wing will take part in the premier women hockey activity,” a spokesperson said. The meeting was also attended by Tanzeela Aamir Cheema, Parveen Sikandar Gill, Prof Abida Tanveer, Tasneem Siddiqui, Shagufta Liaqat Randhawa and Najma Bhatti. The meeting also congratulated Benish Hayat, first ever woman international hockey umpire in Pakistan, on her promotion as FIH international umpire.
