Man arrested for harassing woman

A suspect stalking a woman on a motorcycle was arrested by the intervention of Virtual Women Police Station on Friday.

The incident occurred when a woman returned home from her duty on a rickshaw from Badami Bagh Bus Stand to Shahdara.

The woman reported that a man on a motorcycle started following her. The suspect used inappropriate language, continuously harassed her, and tried to intimidate her. Despite her attempts to stop him, he persisted.

The woman immediately called 15 for help and sought assistance from the Virtual Women Police Station, which immediately dispatched police to the scene.

Acting swiftly, the police arrested the suspect based on the woman’s identification and registered a case.

Stolen money recovered: Police have successfully resolved a robbery case in the Lytton Road area, where Rs8.5 million was stolen at gunpoint.

The investigation revealed that the culprit was none other than the driver of the victim, Sheikh Shahid, a local businessman. The incident occurred when Shahid entrusted his driver, Shafiq, and a security guard with Rs8.5 million in business funds for a transaction.

However, after collecting the money, Shafiq abandoned the vehicle and fled with the cash.

A police team, on the directions of SSP Investigation M Naveed, launched an operation, utilising both modern technology and human intelligence under the supervision of In-Charge Investigation Atif Riaz.

Shafiq was soon apprehended, and the stolen money was recovered and returned to Sh Shahid.
