A man accused of harassing a woman in a bus, was arrested as the virtual women police station facilitated the action through its chat feature.
Using the Women Safety App, the woman reported the incident while traveling from Wazirabad to Lahore. She alleged that a man seated at the back of the bus was harassing her and behaving inappropriately. Despite her efforts to stop him, the man continued.
The Virtual Women Police Station directed police to the live location provided by the woman. As soon as the bus stopped, the police arrested the suspect based on the woman’s information and filed a case against him.
A spokesperson said women can seek immediate police help through the Women Safety App.
