KHAIRPUR: A woman was shot dead by her brother-in-law on the charge of being a Kari in Mahi Mahi, Kambar district, on Sunday.

Accused Abdul Qadir Chandio gunned down his sister-in­law Rahat Khatoon, suspecting she had developed illicit relations with some one from the same village. After committing the crime, the accused managed to escape. The area police are conducting raids for his arrest.

Meanwhile, a cop was gunned down in his own house in the Mukhi Bagh locality of Sanghar city on Sunday night.

Reports said four unidentified armed men barged into the house of police constable Mazhar Abbas and shot him dead. The assailants fled after the crime. Sanghar police are searching for the killers.
