Dispute over land: Man kills mother, three other family members

TOBA TEK SINGH: A young man allegedly killed his mother, a minor niece, a sister and a brother-in-law, besides injuring his nephew, over a property dispute here late on Tuesday night.

As per police sources, the suspect, Imran, of Chak 325 JB, Dullam, first went to the house of his sister in Heera Colony and opened indiscriminate fire. As a result, Imran’s mother Naseem Bibi (70), who was living with her daughter, his sister Farhat Nasreen (40), her husband Abdul Qadeer (61), and their four-year-old daughter Nain Tara, received multiple bullets and died instantly.

Then the suspect went to the house of another sister in Neelum Jabbar Town and shot her husband Abdul Maalik (50) dead.

When Abdul Maalik’s son advocate Usama rushed to save his father, the suspect shot at and injured him critically. He was rushed to the DHQ hospital, while the suspect fled away.

Meanwhile, on the call of the district bar association, lawyers observed strike to condemn the murder of the father of advocate Usama and murderous attack on the lawyer.

Taking notice of the incident, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed Faisalabad RPO Dr Muhammad Abid Khan to arrest the suspect at the earliest, and submit a report.

According to the FIR registered by the City police, complainant Muhammad Umair of Chak 762 GB, Pirmhahal tehsil, said that his deceased father Abdul Qadeer, a retired railway employee, had contracted second marriage with the suspect’s sister Farhat Nasreen.

He said the Piranha suspect was in litigation with his sisters over his share of the family’s farmland and his father (Qadeer) was pursuing the case.Another FIR against the suspect was registered on the complaint of advocate Usama.

In a video message, District Police Officer Ibadit Nisar has urged the people to help the police in arresting the suspect.

The DPO said different police teams have been formed to arrest Imran. The DPO also visited the crime scenes.
