LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge is to hear arguments from December 9 on a petition filed by a man seeking a case against his sister, his brother-in-law and others for allegedly murdering his daughter.
Petitioner Muhammad Gulzar submitted that he had given his daughter to his sister Farah Naz and her husband Arshad Mehmood as they had no children.
He said that they had agreed to allow him to visit the girl regularly and to take her to Belgium, where she was born, every two years.
He said that things went smoothly for a few years, but relations between them became strained and his sister and brother-in-law disappeared in 2006. Recently, he said, a relative of his named Abdur Rehman told him that the couple had killed the girl and dumped her body in a river. He said that other family members had assisted them.
The petitioner asked the court to direct the Factory Area SHO to register a case against the couple and investigate whether other family members were involved.
