A woman who was badly injured after being beaten allegedly by her son-in-law died after struggling for
her life in a hospital on Thursday.

Nasir Ali, a resident of Chiniot and presently residing in Saddar Bairooni area, lodged an FIR with the
police saying that he was at his workplace when his daughter Saima came to him and informed that her
husband Shahid had a quarrel with her.

She also told her father that Shahid struck her mother’s head with a baton, knocking her out, as her
mother Kausar Bibi attempted to stop him.

Nasir said in the FIR that shortly afterwards he rushed to his house and found his wife lying unconscious
and bleeding. The victim was shifted to the hospital where she died on Thursday.
